S&S80 to be released on DVD in the Netherlands
Alert Janeite Aad let us know that S&S80 will be released by Just Entertainment on September 12. They also will release a DVD of Persuasion (but we don’t know which version) on November 17.

Oops! The S&S pictured at the link is S&S 1971, not S&S 1980. This is the one in which Ross Poldark (Robin Ellis) plays Edward Ferrars and Francis Poldark (Clive Francis) plays Willoughby.

You know, Aad said 1971 on the submission, but it says “Starring Irene Richard and Tracy Childs,” who were in the 1980 version.

Me too! I hope it is S&S-1971, as I’d really like to see it. I already have the 1980 version.
This appears to be another DVD cover blooper, like the region 1 1971 Persuasion with Col. Brandon on the cover!

Very confusing indeed… The version with Irene Richard and Tracy Childs is already on DVD in the Netherlands. It’s included in the pink ‘Jane Austen Collection’ box set, which also included P&P95, Emma 1972 and MP 1986.
