PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (2005) Trailer

Filed under: Pride and Prejudice (2005), Screen — Mary @ 9:33 pm

A trailer for PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (2005) is now available at Yahoo! Movies. Our readers must, of course, make their own judgements, but this AustenBlog staff member must say that she is rather impressed.

ETA: Looks like the official site will be at www.prideandprejudicemovie.net. Nothing there yet, it just redirects to Focus Features.

The script, I know, is going to drive me crazy! What is all this “You have bewitched me body and soul” business?

And the proposal scene, in the rain?!?! Can we say, cliche?

Funny thing though, there are people out there that love P&P1 and refuse to even consider the merits of P&P2. I think I’m going to be one of those P&P2 people who refuse to consider the merits of P&P3.

  2. Mags Says:

There’s no studly Fizzer for you in this one, T, that’s your problem. ;-)

I don’t think I’m going to hate it, but I’m not sure I’ll love it, either. It’s always hard to tell from the trailer, though. I nearly coughed up a lung laughing at the trailer for PERSUASION. It was SO bad, almost as bad as the Nibblers cover, but I adore that movie.

It’s JANE, how bad can it BE?

  3. Teresa Says:

No, it’s that goofy-looking red-headed Bingley that’s throwing me into hysterics. It’s Howdy-Doody time! All he needs is the freakles!

But seriously, I’m sure I’m not going to hate it either, but I’m too anal and such a perfectionist that the dialogue differences will most definitely irritate me.

And I’m sorry, but Darcy walking through the mist in gaping frilly shirtage REALLY bothers me. Mr. Darcy is too correct, to stodgy to walk up to a lady in various states of undress. Colin in his wet shirt irked me too!

Yes, and that blue-coated Colonel Fitzwilliam is sending me over the edge!!! ;-) I want my studly red coat back!!!

    Chatsworth looks stunning, btw!!!

  4. Mags Says:

That’s not Fizzer in the blue coat, that’s Wickham, too. Presumably after he joined the regulars.

  5. darcy's loveslave Says:

How are they going to pull this off in 90(?) minutes?!

  6. Cairbre Says:

Its really great! I can’t wait the movie… P&P2 always irritaded me because all the actors look too old and the wet shirt scene made me cringe, so new movie is such a treat for me. I loved mr Collins giving Lizzy a flower, so sweet of him. And what a dashing Wickham! New adaptation will certanly bring new readers to Austen and perhaps even new adaptations to us (Northanger Abbey, anyone?)!

  7. Kirsty Says:

I don’t think I’m going to be able to see Lizzy for Keira. I find her universally annoying.
But Matthew shows some promise as Darcy, so there’s hope.

  8. Kirsty Says:

And after watching it again, isn’t that the music from Love Actually?

  9. Cairbre Says:

I think that trailers often use music from other movies.

  10. Mary Says:

I agree with Mags. It’s Jane, so it can’t be that bad. I was expecting worse, but the trailer looks pretty good to me. I’ll see it no matter what, though. :)

  11. robin Says:

“P&P2 always irritaded me because all the actors look too old and…”
Now this surprises me. I always thought everyone in P&P2 looked on the young side.

  12. Sonja Says:

I can’t wait to see it. And I love the trailer. First I was very sure of disliking it but now I think it will do. Like “Emma” with Gwyneth Paltrow to “Emma” with Kate Beckinsale. More the Hollywood movie of P&P.

But I can’t understand:”P&P2 always irritaded me because all the actors look too old andâ¦” P&P2???

And we got good news this week: it wont start in Germany in February 2006 (as imdb says), it will start in October 2005. So just 5 mounth earlier.

  13. Cairbre Says:

Re: Actors too old in P&P2
How old are Lizzy and Jane according the book? “I am not twenty” says Lizzy to Lady C, so they cannot be more than 18-20 yo. imho Jennifer Ehle looks more likely 30-35 in P&P2 than “not twenty” and same goes to Susannah Harker. Ehle was about 25 at filming so it could be that terrible wig what’s aging her, but Harker was 29 (according the imdb). So thats why I’m glad that they have younger looking actors in new adaptation, so call me shallow if you like ;-)

  14. Robyn Says:

I enjoyed the trailer. I know that it will be different from P&P2, but I am expecting it so i am going to go with an open mind. I truly hope that it is as good as the earlier versions, but if it is not thats ok as well. As much as I like P&P2 it is quite long, and a shorter version that is from after the golden age of pictuers I think is a fine solution. And to agree with Mags, how bad can it be, if they truly used the book as source material, and Deborah, Maggoch stuck faithfully for the most part to the book it should be fine in my book. And I too felt that Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle were too old. But not for that reason more because Julia Sawalha felt really old to be 15. That was my main concern. The cast for this films looks a bit more realistic in terms of age, so for that I am looking forward to it. With regards to the costumes, and the time it is set in all i can think of is the fact that they chose Georgian England, as opposed to Regency England, so the difference in waistlines, and hair fashions is acceptable for the moment.

I will reserve final judgement when i have seen the film, as i am sure we all.~R

  15. Teresa Says:

No, not that strange Hussar type coat of Wickham’s; I meant this Fizzer from the trailer, standing in Lady C’s drawing room:

    http://simplydivine.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/blues.jpg

One upswing, his blue coat probably marks him as a cavalry officer and that is OK by me! ;-)

BTW: It looks blue on my laptop, let me know if it’s actually another color! :-)

  16. Selena Says:

I imagine one of the hardest scenes to write for the screenplay was the second proposal as it is mostly narrative in the novel. In fact, she does not give us the words of “a man violently in love”, which has left it up to our imagination to make it impossibly romantic. Remember, Darcy does not have the gift of conversation. It will be interesting to see how they handle that.

I will lament Mr. Collins, though. I suppose it is because the very first adaptation I saw after reading the novel was P&P1 and it had the “tall and heavy-looking young man of five and twenty.” Not that I haven’t enjoyed Mr. Collins through the ages. Only P&P1 and the Mormon P&P have cast to appearance. Each adaptation, from the Olivier/Garson version through “Bride and Prejudice” has managed to capture the essence of self importance and obsequiousness, so I supposed we’ll just have to wait and see.

    Where is Lizzy’s hat?

  17. Julie P. Says:

I am a P&P1 person, even though there are elements of P&P2 that I prefer.

However, P&P2, for all its advanced production values, leaves me cold to a certain extent because it is so darned pristine. It, along with S&S2, looks incredibly modern, except (of course) for the clothing. A reason I love P2 so much is the “realness” of the movie. The actors aren’t gorgeous. Their hair and clothes and teeth aren’t perfect. Long skirts get muddy when one goes out walking. Hair gets blown out of place. The lighting in P2 is wonderful. Instead of the brightly lit Netherfield ballroom and Assembly room, P2 allows us to see rooms lit more the way they really were in early 19th century England.

For all that CF looked mighty fine in his wet shirt, that scene annoys me because almost-skinny-dipping is not something I would ever have imagined Fitzwilliam Darcy doing.

I will definitely watch the trailer tonight and do plan to go see P&P3.

  18. julia Says:

i’m probably one of the very rare persons who did not like ANY of the adaptions so far. i found p&p2 really horrible and this does not look any more promising. i loved the stills we’ve seen so far, but some scenes in the trailer really frightend me. (the rain scene! the cliff scene!!! all these “school girl giggles”)
anyway, i’ll keep my ill humour to myself until we see the final version.

  19. Mags Says:

Teresa, that coat is GREEN….could he be in TIBBY’S REGIMENT?!? LOLOLOL!!!

(Don’t mind us, gang, private joke.)

  20. Anna Says:

    Green? Blue? It’s dark!!!

  21. Julie B. Says:

Well, I loved the trailer. I believe MM’s Darcy will give CF’s Darcy a run for his money. And Miss Knightley doesn’t horrify me as E. as I feared she might.

There certainly will be changes in the story, which is as it should be.

  22. Sarah Says:

Everyone who has ever read any novel has their own imaginings in mind when seeing any adaptation and will probably see flaws, unless one can remember that a film adaptation is the imaginings of the screenplay writer, director, and cast, blended with a need to have box office appeal (unless one is funding it oneself, i.e. Star Wars Episodes 1,2, & 3), and should be viewed as such. Try to enjoy it for what it appears that it will be: a lovely, beautifully filmed and delightful version of our beloved story.

  23. jane Says:

Wet or dry, this MM’s Darcy doesn’t do anything for me. He looks more like a depressed country folk than a proud aristocrat. KK’s Lizzy, no surprise over there, still KK. Looks like a fun movie, worth seeing at least once. Of course as JA’s fan, that’s a must.

  24. Charlotte Says:

I think I will abide everything except two things: MM as Darcy and the simplified dialogue. I am always very surprised when I hear that someone does not like P&P2, but as Jane said, one half of the world does not understand the pleasures of the other. P&P2 is not perfect, that only the book is, but one thing I love is that whole lines of dialogue were lifted right off the page. For my part, I would be happy if they did not change a single word…especially of Elizabeth’s rejection. Why have KK say she realized he was the last man she would marry, when she can talk about “immovable dislike”, “disapprobation” and the fullest belief of his arrogance, conceit, etc.

  25. Andygrrl Says:

    I’m so torn.

On the one hand, you’ve got some Very Pretty People (yum!), top notch casting (Judi Dench! Tom Hollander as Mr. Collins! I can’t wait!!), and if nothing else it’s going to look fabulous.

But. I have a sneaking suspicion they dumbed down the language, for which I will not forgive them.

Oh who am I kidding. I love P&P1, and I’ll probably love this one as well. I’m psyched!

  26. Amanda Grange Says:

I’ve just been reading all the comments on the trailer and I’m adding my 2 p’s worth.
I loved P&P1, it’s by far my favourite adaptation. I thought David Rintoul looked exactly right for Darcy, I loved Mrs Bennet, who was exactly as I imagined her, and I thought Mr Collins was wonderful. The adaptation by Fay Weldon was really good, too.
I didn’t like P&P2 very much. I didn’t like Jennifer Ehle as Lizzy, and I thought Colin Firth was too brooding for Darcy. But my real problem with P&P2 was Mrs Bennet. As soon as she started to screech, I wanted to turn the volume off. I did, however, love Bingley. Crispin Bonham-Carter is exactly my idea of Bingley.
The trailer for P&P3 has left me with mixed feelings. Lydia looks far too young, and I don’t like the cliches - Lydia dropping a handkerchief, and Lizzy walking in on Darcy in a clinch with some young woman were particularly awful moments, imo - btw, could anyone tell who the young woman was?
But I loved the overall look of the film (though Longbourn seems far too grand), Wickham is gorgeous, Brenda Blethyn and Donald Sutherland, whilst seeming too old for the roles, are wonderful actors, and I love the moment when Darcy leans towards Lizzy as though he’s dying to kiss her. Yes, I know it’s not in the book, and ordinarily I’d consider myself a purist, but, thinking about it, I realise I’m a purist when filmmakers do something I don’t like, and I’m tolerant when they do something non-JA that I do like ;)

    Mandy

  27. Robyn Says:

TO say two things, the young girl with Darcy I believe is Georgiana, and I could not agree more with what you said about Crispin Bonham-Carter he was wonderful, and you are right about the handkerchief cliches it is far too common, but at least it is period appropriate.

There are a fiew things that i need to add now that i have seen this trailer again. The first is that I think that the Netherfield Ball, and the Dance at the Assembly look wonderfuly choreographed. I am looking forward to see the new dances they have come up with for this film. Also and i know many P&P2 purists will not appreciate me saying this but after the rebuff from Lizzie, the face of Darcy, as portrayed by Matthew MacFadyen is priceless. I think it is a mucm more accurate face of a rebuff than that of Colin Firths. Considering that this man has just professed his love for a woman I always thought his semi-arrogant and entierly composed expression was too unnatural. I like the slight break in MacFaydens composure it shows that he is human, and more importantly it lets Lizzie see that Darcy is Human. But that is just my thought. To tell the truth the proposal scene in P&P2 is my least favorite scene of the film, this one looks like it may be a bit better. Who knows, all i know is that I am soon going to be counting down the days to when this film is out and I can see it.

  28. jane Says:

“I realise I’m a purist when filmmakers do something I don’t like, and I’m tolerant when they do something non-JA that I do like ”

So true, most people are like this (including me). Basically we can always find perfect reasons to validate what we like or dislike. At least you admit it, a lot of people really believe themseleves are making truly objective judgment.

  29. Teresa Says:

    One thing more about trailers…

People not knowledgeable in certain aspects of the world of movie-making, don’t understand that the production company of a film does not put the trailer together. It is the job of the marketing department.

If you look very closely at certain scenes in the P&P3 trailer, you can see that “reactions” were matched to “situations”. Lizzy peeking through the door, doesn’t neccessarily mean that she was spying on Darcy in the arms of another woman. That could be from another scene entirely. Lizzy’s reaction to Mr Collins introducing himself and coming through the front door goes with another scene entirely.

Also, many times the producers of the trailer will use footage that never makes it into the actual film. I know that everyone has witnessed this in various movies; you go back and see the trailer and you say, “Hey, I didn’t see that in the film!”

Their goal is to sell tickets!! If they can get a certain emotional reaction out of you by making you “think” you’re getting one thing when in all actuality they are really serving something totally different, then their job is done!

  30. Selena Says:

I agree with Teresa. If you stop the trailer, you see the shot of Lizzie just before Mr. Collins introduces himself has Mr. Collins himself standing behind the sofa.

Judging from the look on Darcy’s face at the young woman, I’m pretty sure it will be Georgiana.

I’m so glad someone else liked P&P1! I remember as a small child sitting on the stairs behind the sofa, peeking around the corner to watch Alistair Cooke on Masterpiece Theatre! It got me hooked and I haven’t looked back.

On the dance scene at the Meryton assembly - it looks like the harvest ball at the end of the Kate B. Emma. In the foreward to the new Barnes & Noble edition of Pride and Prejudice that I got for my 9 year old (I so love having a fellow Janeite in the family!), he mentions that assembly balls would be by subscription and therefore open to anyone who paid their subscription. It wouldn’t just be the gentry. It would be the farmers, shopkeepers, gentry, etc. That would account for the clothing.

Also, Jane’s dress in the opening shots looks like it has components of the apron Emma Thompson wore at Barton Cottage in S&S.

  31. Andygrrl Says:

    d’oh. I meant I love P&P0, the Greer Garson/Olivier version. Never seen P&P1!

  32. Mags Says:

Very true, Teresa. The trailer isn’t really meant for anyone here. It’s meant for the illiterate teenagers who need to be lured forcibly into a theatre to hear “Old English witticisms.” *rolls eyes*

There’s a scene in PRETTY WOMAN where Richard Gere gets champagne for Julia Roberts from room service and she says something like, “You know, you don’t have to seduce me. I’m a sure thing.” Well, we’re a sure thing.

  33. Amanda Grange Says:

What about the voice over? Did anyone else think it was odd?

It wasn’t just the fact that it said, From the writer of Emma and Sense and Sensibility, it was the voice itself. Romantic comedies usually have a lighter voice over. I kept expecting that deep voice to say ‘From a sleepy town, in the depths of the English countryside, comes Pride and Prejudice - this time it’s personal. Starring Vin Diesel as Mr Darcy’ :)

  34. Robyn Says:

That is an interesting comment about the voice over. I guess they were trying to make the film seem more like it is a Historical Drama like Henry VIII or Elizabeth. I guess to put more of a legitamate feeling to the film. Right now a lot of people are watching Historical Drama’s Vanity Fair did very well, as did Cold Mountain the year before. I guess that Focus would like the same sort of attendance as they had for those films.

And Selena you are right, the costumes look more like Sense and Sensibility than P&P2, but then again there are other screen adaptations, where the clothes have looked more plain. The dresses worn in the 1995 Persuasion, the Kate B. Emma, and the BBC’s version of Northanger Abbey. I dont know i guess that is just my take on it all. ~R

  35. Steph Says:

What is the song in the trailer? I cant find it anywhere on the Love Actually cd… Please help.

  36. Schatzi Says:

I am a sap for romance.

  37. Amanda Grange Says:

I think you’re right, Robyn. As Mags says, everyone here is a sure thing anyway, so the film makers have to appeal to as wide an audience as possible with the trailer. If they use a more serious voice over to appeal to fans of historical films, and a ‘ladette’ feel to appeal to teenagers, I suppose they have their bases covered.

I found it really interesting that the marketing department puts a trailer together, also that they use shots that never make it into the film. It will be interesting to see if all the shots used in this trailer are there.

  38. Mags Says:

I am a sap for romance.

    Me too!!! :-)

  39. Stacy Says:

You know, I’m wondering if the music is from Sense and Sensibility…I’ll have to take another listen.

  40. Stacy Says:

Ok, the first song in the preview is definitely from Sense and Sensibility. But the rest I’ve heard somewhere else, but I just can’t put my finger on it. Damn those preview makers! What’s even more annoying is how sometimes certain scene snippets in the previews aren’t even in the movie. I think they did that with the Mansfield Park preview.

  41. Selena Says:

I, too, thought of Mansfield Park with the music. The scene in Fanny’s coming out ball is quite like this music.

Also, as I was re-reading the book yesterday with my 9 year old, we both noticed that Darcy uses the word “bewitched” when he is thinking of Elizabeth at Netherfield - Part 1, Chapter 10. No “body and soul”, but very interesting, indeed.

My 9 year old is very interested in the new movie. She has been doing a P&P marathon this week with me - P&P2, P&P1, then P&P0. She’s also seen B&P and MP&P. It is interesting to hear her interpretations of the characters and her excitement at the latest cast.

If this opens up Austen to a whole new generation, so much the better. When we were at B&P, a kind older lady took a moment to ask her what she thought of the movie. Then she told her that the book was much better. Of course, that opened up the book for us as well. I wasn’t sure she was ready for it, but it is great to hear her exclaim in delight when we come to dialog in one of the videos that is directly from the book.

  42. Mags Says:

Ahh, the joy of indoctrinating the next generation. Nice going, Selena! :-) I wish someone had introduced me to Jane Austen at an early age.

  43. Maze Says:

I am not too bothered by the prospect of a 90 minute or 2 hour production. I have to admit when I watch P&P2 these days I skip over entire sections — after the first 50 minutes I jump to the Netherfield ball, bounce over to Rosings, on up to Pemberley..etc. I barely have patience for Lydia and Wickham and the goings on at Longbourn before Bingley and Darcy return. I suppose this is only natural after someone’s watched the movie so many times. As much as I love P&P2, I would enjoy seeing the “perverseness of the mischance” of Lizzy meeting Darcy on her rambles at Rosings Park or the walk to Oakham Mount. There are so many possible scenes for a new movie. I am really looking forward to this adaptation — and so are my daughters who love Keira.

  44. Robyn Says:

Maze i do the same thing. I find I no longer have any patience whatsoever for Lydia, or Mrs. Bennett. Wickham has begun to annoy me so much that I cannot watch any of the scenes he is in. It is horrible, because i really love this movie. I think a new shorter adaptation is in order as well, it is nice to be able to sit down with Persuasion and not have to schedule four or six hours to see a film. I just dont seem to have that kind of time anymore.

I too am a fan of Keira Knightley, and I too like the posibility of a younger cast. I think that life she brings to the part will be excellent. Also from what I have seen in the trailer, she is much closer to Charlotte Lucas than she seems in P&P2. I get a feeling of coldness at times when I watch Jennifer Ehle and Lucy Scott. I hope that the relationship between the sisters seems a bit less artificial than it did in P&P2. Over all I love P&P2, but watching it I never appreciated that the Bennet’s were sisters, hopefully a younger cast will connet better and bring that out on the screen.~R

  45. jane Says:

It’s opposite for me and my friends. The more we watched P&P2, the more we enjoyed the perfomance of Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Collins. And I think Jane and Lizzy are so sweet together in P&P2, not artificial at all.

  46. Sophia J Says:

Yes, yes, yes… That’s most definitely the music from Love Actually. Don’t think it quite fits the mood created by the editing of the trailer, but beautiful music all the same.

  47. Sarah M Says:

I’m very much looking forward to this new adaptation. I really loved P&P2, but if this one isn’t as good, I don’t feel like it will take anything away. I’ll still have the other one to watch, and this one might be less faithful to the book, but fun all the same.

I really loved Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Collins in P&P2. I thought they were hilarious and perfect for their roles. In fact, one of my favorite scenes from the book (which was left out of P&P2) was the scene in which Elizabeth tells her mother about her engagement. I thought Mrs. Bennet’s reaction was really fun. I’ve always hoped that if they made another movie, they’d include that part in it… so I’m hopeful!

  48. Rae Says:

I thought the version of Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth as Darcy(Hhhmm, he seems to like that title) was wonderful and remarkably accurate when compared to Jane Austen’s novel. So, I approached the trailer for the new Pride and Prejudice with great skepticism. After all, if it isn’t broken, why fix it? However, when I finished watching the trailer, I realized that an updated Hollywood version of the film isn’t so terrible of an idea. In fact, if Darcy and Elizabeth happen to share a passionate kiss before the very last moment of the film or say a line or two that isn’t completely faithful to Austen’s masterpiece, that would be quite fine by me.

And I agree. The song in the second half of the trailer is beautiful. Pity I don’t know the title of that track.

  49. Taya Says:

I thought that the trailer was wonderful! Keira is EXACTLY how I picture Elizabeth when I was reading the novel, and I think that Matthew Macfayden will make a terrific Darcy. The chemistry between the two in the trailer alone was enough to send chills down my spine. I loved the part where he takes her hand to help her into the carriage and when he lets go he flexes his hand! *giggles with delight* I love the fact that sooooo much emotion can be expressed with just a simple gesture like that one! I can’t wait to see the movie!!!!!!!

  50. Heather Says:

the song at the end of the short trailer is from Love Actually, but the song in the middle of the long trailer is actually from Little Women, the version with Claire Danes–a beautiful soundtrack btw, and that particular song is used in MANY trailers it seems.

I’m new to the blog and I want to say how thankful I am that I came across it in my late night Jane Austen googling :)

After reading a lot of the posts, I am warming more and more to the thought of this new film version of P&P…while my favorite novel is Persuasion, I’ve always LOVED the BBC/AE version of P&P…so I was somewhat wary of this new version, especially when I saw Keira was in it..

what do you all think of Judy Dench as the Lady Catherine? I am puzzled by this–I’ve always been an avid fan of Judy Dench’s acting style–often choosing roles which have many layers to them, always with a hidden ironic sense of humor, and usually quite self-aware (think, the Queen in Shakespeare in Love, or her role in the TV series As Time Goes By)…I’d always considered Lady Catherine to be about as pompous and UN-self-aware as you could get…do you think they’re going for a reading of Lady Catherine more in line with the protrayal in the 1940s version?

    Cheers!

  51. joejoe Says:

    hello all,

i know i’m really kicking a dead horse here, but i’ve absolutely fallen in love with the last song in the PP trailer on the focus films website. several people here have said it’s “PM’s love theme” by craig armstrong from “love, actually.” i’ve tried to find some site online that would let me listen to it, but to no avail. i think i’m going to actually buy the soundtrack, but i just wanted to make sure. during the LAST quarter of the shorter PP trailer, beginning around the time when elizabeth (kiera) says, “he’s so rich” and then as the trailer progresses the whole dang symphony sort of erupts into this big, beautiful sound….is THAT the craig armstrong song from “love, actually”? please help….i LOVE this song, whatever it is.

  52. Sean Says:

Yes it is.. it’s a wonderful song; I’ve listened to it countless times. However, I have the Love Actually soundtrack and don’t think I’ve heard it on there. Perhaps there’s a different version of it??

  53. Chelsea Says:

The last song is PM’s Love Theme by Craig Armstrong. It took me forever to find out what it was, and I was so excited when I did.

  54. Soph Says:

@joejoe - You can listen to the song here for example –> http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/music/B0000U1NHO/samples/302-8030975-8978451 :) It’s the last one, track nr. 18!

  55. Meg Says:

Along with anything JA i love period clothing! And from what i have seen from the trailer it is all quite accurate, for the time and social setting! I love when things are historically accurate!

  56. Meg Says:

Ohh, just saw the movie and i have to say i loved it although i will admit that there are some changes, it was really good! oh and for those of you who are worried the jargon was changed slightly at times for those who haven’t read JA’s PaP there were also points where they streamed word for word from the book. I think i was the only one under 30 in the theater! except of course for my little sister and her friend whom i dragged along.

  57. Obie1023@aol.com Says:

Looking for a song from trailer I saw on TV…for Pride and Prejudice it’s different the other songs I heard before….it has words and goes…”you and I in love…”cannot find it please email me if you find the name out….(It’s killing me!)
    Obie1023@aol.com

  58. GT Says:

If anybody could let me know where to find an mp3 of “PM’s Love Theme” or the name of the song that Obie1023 is looking for, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

  59. GT Says:

Alright, I just found out the name of that one song. The American TV trailer, the one with all the critic’s reviews over it is called “Collide” by Howie Day.

Still, if anybody could get me an mp3 of the other song, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks a lot!

  60. Chris Says:

GT, I’ve been looking for an mp3 of PM’s Love Song all morning without any luck. ITunes doesn’t even have it. I don’t really want to buy the whole Love Actually CD for just this song (and only the European imports even have that song, it was taken out on the US release).

If find a copy, I’ll let everyone know.

i have been watching this trailer over and over and my version of PMs Love Song does not sound anything like the last song in the trailer. I got my trailer off of this homepage: http://www.prideandprejudicemovie.net/splash.html

any ideas what that song is? i think it might start to play slowly 3/4 of the way in and then goes until the end. any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

do you know a link for the American trailer of P&P with the song “Collide” by Howie Day in it?

  64. Mags Says:

The idea of having to put pop music on the trailer for a straight-up Jane Austen adaptation is an abomination. Call me a purist. Is nothing sacred?

    Dear music lovers guys,
I am also desperated to find this song (from the PP trailer)!
But at least I know everything about it:
The name is Joanna drives off from Craig Armstrong - Love Actually PROMO cd.
This is a rare cd almost impossible to find. The regular one does NOT have all the Craig’s songs.
Collide is only for USA TV version.
If you find out something, please let me know!!!
    Anna

  67. Sarah Says:

If anyone has a link to the US TV trailer with Howie Day’s “Collide” in it, I’d LOVE to have it! I’ve been looking all over & can only find the two main trailers…

  68. Gabi Says:
