Sandy Lerner on BBC Radio “Woman’s Hour”
Sandy Lerner, entrepreneur, philanthropist and Janeite extraordinaire, was interviewed on the BBC Radio “Woman’s Hour” program about the Chawton House Library. She was the leader of the renovation of the deteriorated Great House at Chawton, owned by the descendants of Jane Austen’s brother Edward, into a study center for 18th century women’s literature, a sadly neglected area of scholarship.
Incidentally, Sandy and the co-founders of Cisco Systems pretty much invented the Internet, or at least the technology to make it possible, so we quite literally would not be here without her.
Thanks to Julie B. for the heads up!
