A Message from Dorothy the Housekeeper

Her Nibs The Editrix has been under the weather for a few days. I’ve been dosing her with white soup and negus and just a wee drop of Tullamore Dew in her tea and she seems to be coming around now. We think you’ll see a few new items here at AustenBlog very soon.

Well Mags, here is something to amuse you while you are recovering–a case of Janeites perhaps taking their affection for Jane a bit too far…

Hope you are on the mend soon!

Maria — “Get off my lawn” indeed! What a shocking bit of trespassing.
Mags — Stop yer whining and get back to your unpaid full time second career of entertaining the masses! Hope you are better SOON.

Sorry to hear that you’re not feeling up to snuff..whatever that means! Looking forward to your return and new tidbits to read about Janeites everywhere. Though the article Maria L about ashes being unwelcome was wonderful.

Get well soon. You should not have gone out in the rain, you know. Is there, perhaps, a houseful of people nearby, romancing each other while you recuperate?

I, too, wish you a swift recovery, and will only add that perhaps you might like a bit of thin gruel? And an egg boiled very soft is not unwholesome, but I do not advise the custard.
Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Like a mom, an Editrix is not supposed to get sick. All heck can break loose! Get to feeling better.

Thanks, all–I really wasn’t angling for sympathy, just wanted Dorothy to let everyone know why I haven’t been up to posting.
It wasn’t the hanky-and-sore-throat variety of flu, unfortunately. :-/ (Might even have been a nasty case of food poisoning–but does one get a fever from food poisoning?) I’m up and about now, though, and coincidentally had already scheduled this week off from work, so I was able to just cocoon up and recover. No Thanksgiving dinner for me, though.
