Quick like a bunny–bid on Jane Austen comic books in Spanish!
Baja Janeite sent us an eBay auction that might be of interest–P&P and NA comic books in Spanish! Bidding ends Friday at 8 a.m. Eastern time, so make haste!
Mr. Tilney looks like kind of a continental fellow–Roman hands and Russian fingers, if you follow us.
(Or maybe that’s John Thorpe? Catherine looks pretty annoyed…or it’s Capt. Tilney hitting on Isabella, but then she shouldn’t look annoyed, should she?)

Darcy looks like a violent fellow. I certainly don’t remember anyone getting punched out like that in P&P (top right corner). I have to assume it’s Wickham, though.
And look at him tearing apart that letter. ARRRRR.
I *like* that kind of Darcy.

I once wrote a fan fiction in which Darcy found Wickham and Lydia, sent her out of the room, and proceeded to beat the snot out of Wickham. I enjoyed writing it.
I also wrote a fan fiction in which Henry Tilney beat the snot out of Wickham. Don’t ask.

Thanks for the tip — I got ‘em! I’m going to give them to my mom for Christmas. How I will be able to wait five months is beyond me.

Not only the characters seemed erroneously portrayed in personality, but also the attire is not Regency or even Georgian. That is one of the mistaken ideas in the Spanish speaking coutries, there is no sense of the period, for most people around there (here for me) JA is even Victorian agrrr!!! One of the few illustrated editions in Spanish also makes the same mistake, portraying Victorian characters. So sad!
But what I can’t believe is that two people actually compete for those ‘comics’ and offerened the sums they did for them. No wonder other sellers ask the amounts they ask for the Brock editions.
