Winners of the Jane Austen Regency World Awards

Filed under: Nonfiction, Paraliterature — Mags @ 1:06 am

The winners were announced at a ceremony last week in Bath. We are absolutely delighted for Patrice Hannon, whose excellent book 101 Things You Didn’t Know About Jane Austen won for “Best Know-How Book.” Congratulations also to Alexandra Potter, who won best new fiction for her book Me and Mr. Darcy.

And yes, we’re purposely ignoring everything else.

    What about the cluebat awards?

  2. Maria L. Says:

Hmmmm…judging from the first four awards, there must be more people living in Austen Bizarro World than I thought….

  3. Cinthia Says:

Unfortunately there are Maria, whether I would call them Janeites is another matter.

I think the only ones who should hear my opinion of what we are purposely ignoring is the JA Csntre.

  4. Maria L. Says:

Well, all I can add is that we really, really need the Golden Cluebats Awards….

    Austen Bizarro World
If that was in Orlando, I’d visit Orlando again.

Those results are, er, astounding …

Thank you very much, Mags. I’m sorry our books were in the same category! Your excellent book certainly deserved an award. As it happens, you were so important to 101 THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT JANE AUSTEN that yours is one of the few names in the “Acknowledgments.” And then you championed the book so tirelessly all last year! I’m very grateful for all your help. And thanks again for the congrats.

Hey Patrice–it’s easy to support such a great project. I really do like the book very much and think you did a FANTASTIC job with it and recommend it all the time!
