Jane Austen teapot cookie tutorial

Filed under: Janeite Crafts — Mags @ 12:24 am

A while back, we linked to Mari’s lovely Jane Austen teapot cookies; apparently, our Gentle Readers then badgered her for politely requested a tutorial, and Mari has now obliged us. These cookies really are a work of art.

(We wonder if it’s possible to make the little silhouettes separately on the wax paper and place them on, say, an iced cupcake? Hmm.)

Thank you so much for the mention. With Jane Austen on for a good part of this year (on PBS) I thought viewers might be having parties, want something fun to hand out to guests. I’m happy to answer any questions on technique, etc. And thanks for the cupcake suggestion - I never thought of that one! I’ll give it a try…best, mari

Wow! I am completely impressed. I tried to JUST get colored frosting on cookies for my daughter’s birthday and it was a disaster. I applaud women who take the time for the intricate delights in life (I spend every spare moment with a book in hand, much to my huband’s dismay). I hope to someday PURCHASE such lovely things for an event of my own :)
