One hopes this film does better in the UK than the US. So far the box office has been dismal, reflecting the fact that the movie opened only briefly in specialty theaters. Those of us who live in the hinterlands and who wanted to see this film had to see it quickly, for in some cases it came and went in a week.

This strikes me as the type of movie that will have a “long tail” and do well on DVD. Grownups watch DVDs; 14-year-old girls go to see pirate and princess movies and anything with the pirate and princess girls in them.
