Alert Janeites Julie T. and Joan Ellen let us know that Stephen Colbert mentioned Jane Austen during his promo on The Daily Show last night.

Well, we wish he WOULD write it!

    We can only hope :)

  2. RJ Says:

If only he’d do something similar to the MetaFreeForAll Austen related. Perhaps an Austen/Bronte debate?

Hmm, I can see it now.
“And do you know why else Jane Austen’s Juvenellia is better than the Bronte sisters’? Because it doesn’t have any bears in it!”

I saw this - it cracked me up! I actually have a volume, put out by Penguin I think, which contains the collected juvenalia of Jane Austen and the Brontes under one cover. As if they were anything alike…

Awww I love Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert… Cracked me up as well!
