Nice try
We’ve blogged about this before, but it looks like it’s under a new name now (second link not safe for work). (You can click on “more” safely, but not the second link.)
This year’s Pride Festival theater program will feature two plays at the Blue Room, with John Michael Swinbank starring in Two Old Queens and Melbourne Outcast Theater returning to Perth to present the Steven Dawson play, Jane Austen’s Guide to Pornography.
Because it’s not quite the same without Jane Austen in the title, is it? We’re just surprised it’s not Mr. Darcy’s Guide to Pornography. Oh, wait, that’s already been done.
In their latest offering, Jane Austen is on her last lungs and desperate for a hit. In the meantime, another more modern writer is also having issues; he’s over writing tawdry sex comedies.
He needs love in his plays. She needs sex in her novels.
No, she doesn’t.
It’s Sense and Sensibility meets Sex In The City
Back there again, are we?
