Martin Phipps to score S&S07
Alert Janeite Carmen wrote to tell us that Martin Phipps, whose gorgeous score for North and South is a favorite at AustenBlog World Headquarters and who also scored Persuasion 2007, will be composing the score for the upcoming BBC adaptation of Sense and Sensibility.

GREAT news ! I really can’t imagine why the BBC and ITV wouldn’t release any of his work on CD, it’s absolutely gorgeous.

So can I. I understand you could buy it just in UK (although not fair), but I don’t understand why is not edited a very good soundtrack as North & South. It is just edited Virgin Queen in CD, and I don’t know if it is good or not, any opinion?

He also made the beautiful score of ITV’s Persuasion, let’s not forget that. Somebody told me not long ago that ITV might consider the release of a CD with the score of all the three recent adaptations. I have no idea where she got that from and I didn’t keep her name, unfortunately. As I have heard nothing of the sort except from her, I assume that is not true although I really wish it were.

Carmen - you can listen to 4 tracks of the score on YouTube, just search for ” Martin Phipps ”
Some people used some pieces of it for fan videos.
