The Southern Daily Echo solicited Hampshire’s Top 100 Famous People, and teased that perhaps Jane Austen made the list–and then say one must get the print version to find out! Have any of our Gentle Readers in Hampshire seen the paper, and did Our Jane make the list, and in which position?

She’s there. Go to the link above, look right at the top, and check out the “Historical figures” category. Just don’t panic if she looks rather like her sister Cassandra, though.

The list has Jane Austen at Number 7 and Colin Firth as Number 1! Number 7…ugh, what a load of rubbish!! She should have been no.1.
