“I had entered on my studies at Oxford, while you were a good little girl working your sampler at home!”

Via Manchegan Madness, we find Jane Austen cross-stitch sampler kits for you mad stitchers out there (you know who you are).

The kits include quotations from Northanger Abbey (like this blog post! La!), Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, and the Sense and Sensibility movie (actually Shakespeare via Marianne In The Rain) and Emma, as well as a stocking kit with a Christmas quotation from Emma.

My husband recently gave me the P&P sampler (”A lady’s imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony, in a moment.”) as part of an anniversary present! He encourages my JA addiction. :)

Manchegan Madness - will have to remember this term diagnosis!

These sets are just beautiful! I’ve recently begun learning to crosstitch so when I get a bit more experienced one of these would be so lovely to do! I particularly like the Emma Christmas stocking, how true that statement is! And the Pride & Prejudice one has Darcy and Elizabeth at Pemberley! :)

These are wonderful, but the S&S “quote” is actually from Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116 . . .

    I bought this JA-inspired sampler a while back: http://www.margaretandmargaret.com/samplers/36.html

This one looks rather simple and easily do-able for a novice. There do not appear to be any fractionals or much backstitching.
