Romp in the Hay with Andrew Davies
This year’s Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts in Hay-on-Wye features a lecture by screenwriter Andrew Davies. He will discuss his Northanger Abbey, Sense and Sensibility and A Room with a View scripts with Sky News anchor Adam Boulton. The lecture takes place on Saturday, May 26 at 1:00 pm. Tickets are £6 and may be purchased online. As always, we would love to hear a report!

A Room with a View? I didn’t find it listed that he did that screenplay. Is this a new adaptation in the works?

Room with a View is a new adaptation in pre-production. It’s not listed at IMDB yet, but this article in the Daily Mail has some casting and filming details.

I’d LOVE to get anyone’s notes from this - would be perfect for my thesis on Austen adaptations….

Just wanted to say that Hay-on-Wye is the setting for one of my all time favourite novels “Lady of Hay” by Barbara Erskine. If you haven’t already read it, it’s a great read.
