We really are not sure what to make of this
An article in the El Paso Times claims that the film Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters is “curiously inspired by” Northanger Abbey.
Huh.
The article also says “Should we see it? Only for die-hard fans of the show. Most human beings should stay away.” If any die-hard fans out there care to report in, we’d love to hear from you.

As a fan of both ATHF and Jane Austen (Yes it is quite true! We exist!), I must say that I could make no discernible connection between NA and the movie.
I have just spent several minutes pondering the subject, with ultimately nothing but failure. (Could the South Jersey Shore laboratory/condos/office space be a comparison to the Abbey? And who is Carl: Henry Tilney, perhaps? Oh dear I hope not. Are the Mooninites parallel to the ridiculous Isabella? Oh no, she is probably the Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past, as it likes to make out with/sexually assault any stationary object.)
I suppose one could say that there are jokes that relate to some elements of the gothic tradition, but it is somewhat a stretch to compare it to Jane Austen.
As you can see, I cannot help you! Maybe another reader will be brighter and more inspired.
P.S. Don’t bother to see it unless you are a fan of the show. It’s a movie clearly directed towards those who are familiar with the format.
