Because the Editrix is a hopeless geek, behold the Unboxing Photo of “her own darling child,” messengered to le travail du journée late this afternoon. Apologies for the quality of the photo. Our hand was shaking just a bit.

Perhaps the P&P auction would accept a straight-across trade?

    Congratulations!

  3. Sylvia L. Says:

    Great!

  4. Kathleen Says:

How wonderful! All my heartiest congratulations. It is me (or the camera) but isn’t the front cover more eggshell blue rather than the colour of the book on the sidebar? Or am just mad? Anyway, be proud of your Darling Child!

  5. Mandy N Says:

  13. Louisa Says:

Yay!! OMG, I’m so excited (for you and for me) You have seriously got no idea how long I’ve been looking for a book like that. Or how incredibly thrilled I was when it showed up in the sidebar. I am *so* buying it as soon as it comes out. I’m such a period nut :-)

Also, I have been unable to find any reference to “Pride And Prejudice-A Latter-Day Comedy” on Austenblog. Perhaps you don’t know of it?(Though I kind of doubt that) I’d be very interested in hearing your opinions on it!

  14. LadyJamers Says:

Congrats! I am soo happy for you!!!!

    Big Hugs!

  15. Mags Says:

    Thanks everyone!!!

The cover is a light aqua color, more blue with a hint of green. The color in the sidebar is right, but the green lettering makes it seem greener. The inside is shades of teal on cream paper. It was passed around at work (actually I ran around squeeing and shoving it into everyone’s face) and they all exclaimed how “pretty” it is! It is pretty!

Louisa: Yep, I saw the film back when it first came out and thought it was cute. It’s not mentioned here because the blog is more about new stuff.

And now of course I seem to be coming down with the flu. Figures.

  16. Jessica Irene Says:

Wheee can’t wait til my pre-ordered copy arrives….am nursing a sore throat too, Mags, so how about tossing me one of your shawls and I’ll get the tea (Dorothy has head in your book). Am trying to keep Newfoundland puppy from chewing edges….

  17. Ina Says:

Congratulations Mags! It’s the best feeling for a writer to hold her “baby” in her hands. That goes for guys too, but I don’t know any male writers, so there. Sorry about the flu.

  18. Karenlee Says:

So how do we arrange to order our personally autographed copies Mags???

  19. Julie B. Says:

Oh yes! Maybe I should change my amazon order to ship to you, and then paypal you the postage to my house! ;-)

  20. Cassi Says:

Congratulations, Mags!! That looks very sleek. Time to start nosing in those bookstores (or Amazon, but that’s so new-fangled!)
Anyway, I’m so glad it’s out now, after all your hard work and effort!

  21. Karenlee Says:

I’m absolutely serious. I want a copy autographed by the hand that wields the Cluebat! Am also willing to follow Julie B.’s route

  22. Carmen Says:

Congratulations! Great that you have your own book! :)

  23. Teresa Says:

What? Where in the heck have I been in the last few days? I can’t believe I missed this. So sorry, Mags, but you know I am totally self-centered… plus I suck. Congrats!!!!!!
