Region 2 Persuasion 2007 DVD available for preorder
Alert Janeite Helen B. wrote to tell us that she stumbled across a listing on Amazon UK for the Region 2 Persuasion 2007 DVD! Release date is March 26, 2007, which Helen verified at two other DVD sites. There is no listing for NA07 or MP07 as of yet.
We can now engage in some interesting educated speculation: the UK air date for P07 will be on or around March 26. The DVD will likely become available immediately afterwards. We have heard that MP07 will air in March as well.
It also looks like the DVDs will be sold separately, rather than as a set. That makes sense, since many people will already have the Kate Beckinsale Emma, which also is being broadcast as part of the “Jane Austen Season.”
Don’t melt down the servers preordering, now! Discuss away!

Since we here in the US have to wait until November to see it on television, I might jump the gun by buying the DVD from the UK — but only after I get the widest possible range of opinions from those who will see it in March.

Oh!! Is ITV going to put a website for these films??? It is the only way to write to Spanish broadcasters and ask them the films.
Anyway, I think that I will have to order them…but I want to know if they are good first (I like Rupert’s Wentworth in the photos but I CAN’T see Billie Piper as Fanny)

Thank you Amo. I’ll keep an eye on the site. Although small, I think is enough to write TV broacasters or distributors in order that they can ’see’ the films (and hopefully, they put it in Spanish).

I can listen no longer in silence. I must speak to you by such means as are within my reach… to express my thanks to Helen B. for stumbling finding this information. Too bad my preferred source of Region 2 DVDs does not list it yet. No matter. The order is placed. If there is interest here, maybe I will be allowed to post a review after I have seen it?

Does anyone know whether a region 2 DVD will work in Canada on a computer using a software player? I have a little program called AnyDVD which I think is supposed to get around the region code problem, but I don’t know if the PAL/NTSC thing matters.
