Sloooooooow

Busy finishing up last edits on Chapter 2 of There Must Be Murder, and there’s not much news anyway, so nothing tonight. We might have something more interesting to post tomorrow, but it requires a little work *shudder* on our part.

In the meantime, go check out some other Austen-related blogs…

The Jane Austen Quote of the Day

Jane Austen’s World (Oooh, Beau Brummell! We have a weakness for him.)

Austen-tatious

Or go find some fan fiction at the Jane Austen Fan Fiction Index. (Username and passwords below the jump…)

Or go read a BrontëBlog or two.

Or see what Geoffrey Chaucer or his merrye bande of co-bloggerres have been up to. (Do not miss his review of the entertainment Serpents on a Shippe, or the ballade he wrote for Litel Lowys (his son), Straight Ovtta Londoun.)

Did anyone see The Ruby in the Smoke on Masterpiece Theatre last Sunday? It was like a preview for the upcoming Jane Austen flicks…Billie Piper (Sally Lockhart) will play Fanny Price, JJ Feild (Fred the photographer dude) will play Henry Tilney, Hayley Atwell (Fred’s sister–you see we’re not great with names) will play Mary Crawford (and she’s certainly pretty enough), and Julie Walters (Mrs. Holland) will play Mrs. Austen in Becoming Jane. We thought Julie Walters was smashing but the film overall left us lukewarm. A couple of Austen alum in there as well…Robert Glenister, who played Mr. Selby, was Captain Harville in Persuasion 1995 and David Harewood, who played the twins Nicholas and Matthew Bedwell, played Henry Tilney in the BBC radio play of NA last year (click for Heather L’s review), freaking us out mightily in scenes that David and JJ had together.

Talk amongst yourselves! And click -more- for the username and password of the JAFF Index… (more…)
