P.D. James: Friend of Jane

Alert Janeite Paola sent us a link to an interview with the novelist P.D. James (in Italian) in which she says that, like her character Adam Dalgleish, she loves Jane Austen.

    Isn’t this kind of old news? Her fragment of an autobiography published in around 2001 makes her love of Jane Austen clear, even including an essay she presented at a Jane Austen event at Chawton (Emma as a Detective Novel - quite good).

    Old news indeed. She appears on the 10th anniversary DVD of P&P.
