Last minute public admission tickets for Emma musical in NYC

Filed under: Stage — Mags @ 10:18 am

Any New Yorkers who have the day off for Columbus Day, we are informed that there might be a possibility of standby tickets for today’s matinee of the musical version of EMMA, which was previously listed as invitation-only. The show is at 12:30 at New World Stages, 340 W. 50th Street (between Eighth and Ninth Avenues). The playwright said to line up for standby tickets, though of course nothing is guaranteed, and one might want to call the theatre first. If you get to see it, we would love to hear all about it. This is the information we have:

…the composer just dropped this hint that others will be allowed to buy last minute tickets:

“i’m told that you can line up for stand by seats for monday’s 12:30 show, as it is a 350 seat theater.”

On-set photos from PERSUASION 2007

Austenwitness News Reporter Owen posted in comments a link to his Flickr photoset of Bath Street filming of PERSUASION 2007, including shots of Sally Hawkins in costume and Rupert Penry-Jones not in costume. AustenBlog readers who are, like the Editrix, dedicated fans of the 1995 film will remember another scene that took place on the same street…(when we were there last year, there was scaffolding up on one side of the street, which sort of ruins the atmosphere.)

(Thanks also to Alert Janeites Maisy and Franka for letting us know that the money shot was posted over on the IMDB forum, too!)
