Filming location for MANSFIELD PARK 2007
Hard on the heels of yesterday’s bit of casting news, we have a location for MANSFIELD PARK 2007, courtesy of Alert Janeites Sylvia M. and Cinthia. It’s unclear if Newby Hall will be the location for Mansfield Park itself or perhaps Sotherton, though we would think that several weeks of shooting means the Park, and we also think the house looks absolutely perfect.

Mansfield Park at Newby Hall
Newby Hall is hosting a star studded cast through the month of September as a remake of Mansfield park is being filmed in the magnificent Georgian House.
Starring Billy Piper, the film will take around a month to film and the House will be closed to the public at this time. The Gardens will remain open throughout this period, closing as usual on the 1st October.
“Newby Hall is proud to be associated with this prestigious production” said Stuart Gill, Administrator “The Robert Adam interiors and decoration are exactly right for the period and will making a stunning backdrop to the Jane Austen novel. It is disappointing that the house will have to close to the public for September but I am sure everyone will realise the positive benefits for Ripon and Yorkshire with one of the finest historic properties featured on National television”
The 2 hour Drama will be shown on ITV sometime during 2007. The production company, “Company Pictures” will number around 50 through the Month of September and have taken up temporary residence in one of Newby Stables Office Units. The cast and crew will be staying locally in hotels, guesthouses and rented properties.-from Newby Hall website
If they’ll be there a month, it’s undoubtedly Mansfield Park.
What a prospect! A gorgeous house! I think it’ll act MP very well. The interiors are bee-YOO-tiful, from what I can see from pics. Also the gardens seem v. pretty.

The house is just beautiful and the gardens, wow! I can just see the characters from MP strolling around the gardens and play-acting in the hall! I’m so excited!
