Northanger Abbey resource site

Filed under: Audio, Northanger Abbey 2007, Online, Screen, Stage — Mags @ 2:09 am

While we’re waiting ever-so-patiently *cough* for news about NA2, we recommend a trip to Heather L.’s Jane Austen resource site, Solitary Elegance, newly located at its own URL. The site includes an exhaustive review of various radio, stage, and film adaptations and a nearly-complete set of the C.E. Brock watercolors. The latest addition is a transcript of NA1 and a list of press releases related to the filming of NA2. Check it out!

I was severely upset to see that after the success of the poorly made but widely popular P&P3, Miramax dropped NA2! Now it is going to be a made for TV movie that will keep Americans waiting!! I am extremely sad!

PS…Just watched P&P3 on DVD to see what I missed while criticizing in the theatre–did anyone notice Darcy’s cravat? That is one poorly tied cravat and the real Darcy’s valet would have been very upset to his master in something so “common”. And I also found that I didn’t hate Wickham so much in this version because he didn’t say anything! What were they thinking?!?!

FYI, as a result of today’s news articles, I’ve added “Confirmed” crew and cast lists, with IMDB links, to the NA2 section of the adaptations page.
