Revisiting the Jane Austen Action Figure

Filed under: Jane in the News — Mags @ 9:30 pm

It has come to our attention that some of our readers were unaware of the existence of the Jane Austen Action Figure, available at Archie McPhee and other online retailers. She is packaged with a miniature writing desk, quill pen and plastic faux copy of Pride and Prejudice. The company offers a line of “action figures” for various classic authors, historical figures (we want the Ben Franklin figure) and composers. They are meant to be tongue in cheek but not disrespectful. We love our Jane Action Figure here at AustenBlog World Headquarters (except we think her gown might be a trifle low-cut). She holds court on the shelves of the Jane Austen Memorial Library and Reading Room, just in front of our Oxford Illustrated Edition of the novels.
