This article suggests both Jane Austen (but the author really should read Northanger Abbey first; might be rude otherwise), Alexander Hamilton and Benjamin Franklin, coincidentally three of the Editrix’s choices. She would flirt outrageously with Mr. Hamilton while keeping an ear open for the conversation between Miss Austen and Mr. Franklin, which no doubt would be absolutely hilarious.

I read the article, and my initial choices were also 3 from her list:
Jane Austen, Mark Twain, and William Shakespeare. Then I realized that the combined force of the wit of these three individuals, when sitting in such close proximity, would probably be lethal! Although on the upside, I could finally find out what Mr. Clemens really thought of Jane…

Language barrier aside, I’d choose Jane Austen and Ovid. Catullus has a conditional invitation, provided he behaves himself … and brings some of that expensive perfume from Poem 13 (or should I say XIII?) as a hostess gift. I think both gentlemen would appreciate Miss Austen’s lepidi libelli.
