Jane Austen Country Tour
Hidden Britain Tours is offering a tour of “Jane Austen Country,” meaning the area around Steventon where she lived the first 25 years of her life, danced at balls and flirted with young men (not to mention writing S&S, P&P and NA). There are morning, afternoon or full-day tours available, so we dare say each involves different stops. We suggest that you contact the tour company for more information about cost and other specifics.
This might be a good option for those who wish to visit Steventon and don’t have private transportation. If anyone takes the tour, please post a review.

I would highly recommend Hidden Britain Tours! I ran into Phil and Sue last year on my Austen journey. I had decided to trek around the countryside around Steventon for a day, and the guidebook I was following was incredibly difficult. I spent four hours traipsing through fields following directions like “turn left in front of the row of pines.”
I ran into Phil and Sue outside of the church at Deane. They drove me back to Steventon, where we wandered through the church together and compared notes, and then went together on to a couple other places, including Manydown.
It was lovely, a wonderful serendipitous meeting in the midst of my trip. I’m sure their Austen tours will be wonderful.
