See you in the funny pages

Mike Carey, an award-winning comic book writer (no, seriously) is discovering the Joys of Jane:

I’m getting hooked on Jane Austen: you know the “Pride & Prejiduce” [sic] series that the BBC did years ago? I just watched that again and I really had a blast with it. I’m now working my way through all the adaptations of 18th and 19th century novels that I can get my hands on. I’m enjoying that a lot.

If your favorite comic book heroine starts talking about being excessively diverted, you’ll know what to blame.

Oh, I’m sorry! I had no idea your interests ranged so widely. ;-)

Don’t be! I’ve been slacking lately–working too much.

Wouldn’t it be cool if somebody did a Georgian or Regency-set comic book?
