AustenBlog...she's everywhere

Greetings to Chicago Sun-Times Readers

Filed under: Jane in the News, Pride and Prejudice (2005) — Mags @ 12:39 pm

We have previously linked several articles detailing general travel sites in the U.K. of interest to Jane Austen fans as well as specific sites of interest to fans of the new film of P&P, and normally we would not link another article that repeats the same information, but this one mentions AustenBlog so we feel obligated. ;-) And we hope that Chicagoites enjoyed your recent city-wide wallow in Jane Austen.

However, as a Persuasion fan, we are distressed that there was no mention of Lyme Regis as a destination! We are still sad that we were not able to get there on our recent trip. (Of course, it gives us an excellent excuse to return.)

For Jane Austen fans, we strongly recommend a visit to Jane Austen’s House Museum at Chawton in Hampshire, if you do nothing else in the U.K.

Miss Bennet and Mr. Bingley Write

Filed under: Stage — Mags @ 12:25 pm

The actors who will portray Elizabeth and Bingley in a production of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE at the Bonstelle Theatre, Wayne State University in Detroit, have commented in a prior post about the production. They want to hear from Austen fans, so if you go to the production, let them know! (And send us your review!)

The performances begin on December 9.
