More on “I Love You Because”

As previously reported by AustenBlog, a modern re-telling of Pride and Prejudice entitled I Love You Because is scheduled to open off-Broadway on Valentine’s Day, 2006. The musical comedy is produced by Jennifer Maloney and Fred Caruso, and directed by Daniel Kutner.

Stephanie D’Abruzzo has been cast as Diana, who is (if I gathered correctly from reading the somewhat circuitous plot synopsis) the Jane equivalent. (Or maybe the Bingley equivalent. I’m not actually sure.) Ms. D’Abruzzo is currently appearing in Avenue Q. Her last appearance in that play is scheduled for December 24.

No other cast members have been announced. The official website for the musical is here.

Just letting the blot know that a stage production of Jane Austin’s “Pride and Prejudice” is coming to Detroit’s Bonstelle Theatre December 9th-18th. It is a very new adaptation and utterly delightful! http://www.theatre.wayne.edu
