Teen writer reviews Pride and Prejudice
We thought this was cute.
She had never read “Pride and Prejudice!” Perhaps, many of you see no cause for alarm. I hold a different opinion. To me, saying that you’ve never read “Pride and Prejudice” is like saying, “Oh, I’ve never breathed air.”
It’s incomprehensible. I assumed, until my rude awakening, that everyone — at least, every female — had read “Pride and Prejudice.” But now I wonder: How many out there have never experienced the joy of reading Jane Austen’s finest novel? If that applies to you — oh how I pity you if it does — let me help.

Lovely piece of writing, and my thoughts exactly. One of of friends asked me just today if P&P was good, and I jumped up and down and said yessssssssss.

I had not heard of Pride and Prejudice until this summer.
My mom wanted her daughters to read the book before she took us to see it. I had no objection.
And ended up loving the book

As an argentinian girl, who has readed (several times!) this excellent novel in its original language, I can say one little thingy here:

WHAT?! YOU´RE KIDDING, RIGHT??!!
DOES exist someone out there who hasn´t readed YET?!
Man! The things you´ve got to read!
Cheers!
Ana
ps. Excellent website!! Congratulations!

Lizzie ann - I applaud your mother! My seven year old daughter is very aware of Pride & Prejudice at the moment (do you think that might be due her mother’s obsession with P&P3?!), and has seen and loved Bride & Prejudice. However, I’ve told her that I want her to read P&P - when she’s old enough of course - before she sees any of the more conventional adaptations. I just think this is a novel to read before you see it, if you possibly can.
