P&P3 release date moved to November 11 in the U.S. and Canada
According to moviesonline.ca, the Canadian release date for P&P3 has been moved up to November 11 because of the film’s success in the U.K.
So we popped over to the official site and guess what? November 11 in the U.S., too. No idea if this means “opens everywhere” or “select cities.” We’ll try to find out.
ETA: Alert Janeite Liz posted a link in comments that says it will open in the “top 30 markets.” Our contact was unable to tell us specifically which markets. I think we can assume New York and L.A.; beyond that, it’s anybody’s guess. Well, it’s only a few weeks now, we’ll know soon enough.
Gird your loins for the Great Hollywood Publicity Machine as it grinds into motion, fellow Janeites!

According to this site

it’s for “top 30 markets” (whatever that means ?) and wide release on Nov 23.
Glad for you guys in US/North America - that’s one week less of waiting

Almost two weeks, actually!
I just hope they hold off on major publicity till I get back from the U.K.

Oh no! That means I’ll have to choose between P&P3 and Rent that night!! I’ll probably see both several times, actually… but what an awful choice to make. Rent has HUGE sentimental value to me…
But - I am very exicted that P&P3 is that much closer to us now!

I’m betting “top 30 markets” won’t be too different from the usual limited release suspects. U.S. cities by population:

YAY! Only I’m going to Ontario that morning, so me and my best girlfriend can’t go see it the day it opens! Oh well, we’ll still see it before the 18th.

Well, it does make sense, as “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” opens in the US on 13 November. I do wish P & P3 would open in all of our cities on the 11, rather than some two weeks later.
I guess we can’t have everything!
