P&P3 release date moved to November 11 in the U.S. and Canada

Filed under: Pride and Prejudice (2005) — Mags @ 10:23 am

According to moviesonline.ca, the Canadian release date for P&P3 has been moved up to November 11 because of the film’s success in the U.K.

So we popped over to the official site and guess what? November 11 in the U.S., too. No idea if this means “opens everywhere” or “select cities.” We’ll try to find out.

ETA: Alert Janeite Liz posted a link in comments that says it will open in the “top 30 markets.” Our contact was unable to tell us specifically which markets. I think we can assume New York and L.A.; beyond that, it’s anybody’s guess. Well, it’s only a few weeks now, we’ll know soon enough. :)

Gird your loins for the Great Hollywood Publicity Machine as it grinds into motion, fellow Janeites!

JASNA AGM this weekend in Milwaukee

Filed under: Austen Societies and Events — Mags @ 9:46 am

The 2005 Annual General Meeting of the Jane Austen Society of North America begins tomorrow in Milwaukee. The theme is “Jane Austen’s Letters in Fact and Fiction” and the plenary speakers are an Austenian All-Star lineup, including Deirdre LeFaye (via video), Jan Fergus, Juliet McMaster, Joan Klingel Ray, Devoney Looser and George Justice, and a special Thursday evening talk from Irene Collins.

We understand that there will be at least one Very Interesting Announcement coming out of the meeting concerning a future AGM…well, interesting to us, anyway. Enough said!

To all those attending: take every opportunity of enjoying yourselves! *waves hankie* Wish we were there with you!
