Lady Catherine calls in the middle of the night?!! Nnnnoooooo….
September 6th, 2005 at 5:53 pm
Yo ho.. she’s going back to the pirates, I suppose.

Oh, there’s one thing!
Kirsty says:
Why was Caroline Bingley dressed in a sleeveless top at the Netherfield Ball
Well, first I had the same thought, as a fashion junky as I am …
but than I found a similar dress here:

Sleeveless!

I’m right there with a Liz, I am trying to get by on the “clips” and re-watching just about every version on P+P out there.

I was a bit sceptical about Keira and Matthew in these very precious roles, but the more I see of the film ,the more I grow to like them. I never really warmed to Jennifer in the role, not sure why, and I think Keira will outweigh Jennifer for me, based on what I have seen and read so far.
Aren’t they sooo cute in the photo?

This Caroline Bingley strikes me as an ultra-fashionable and sexy young lady with aspirations of being une Merveilleuse. The dress at the Meryton Assembly looks pretty skimpy to me, too. Good for her.
And I’d say Keira’s dress is less French Empire and more Athenian Empire. Lovely color.

MM seems put on a little weight. Both of them seem a bit tense in that photo.

KK is sooo beautiful! Can’t wait for P&P to come out!! MM & KK don’t look like they’d have Chemistry, guess i’ll be fooled when the movie comes out.

I’m dying to know!! is there actually a wedding scene with Liz and Darcy in this production???
September 7th, 2005 at 7:32 am
Sorry, apparently no wedding .. so say those who’ve seen it *sob!* We’re so ‘cheated’ of the ending *double sob!*

I think both KK and MM will be just great in the film, I am more worried about dialogue and writing! IMHO, Elizabeth Garvy was the best of the Eliz. Bennets. She had a more playful spirit, she could really smile ‘archly’ at Mr. Darcy! KK seems to have captured this playfulness - at least from the clips.
Can’t believe all the movies I want to see this fall - it is feast or famine sometimes!

His hair, Louisa! MM looks unwell nowadays. He looks much better with longer hair.
I think it will be lovely to watch an adaptation of P&P on the big screen, simply for the experience, but a true JA lover writes the script, we will always be dissatisfied. I love P&P2, but would have added another one hour at least, if not two.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:41 am
I agree writing is crucial & Elizabeth Garvy played Lizzie wonderfully. I think that’s why I was disappointed with Jennifer.KK’s playful spirit is much better.
I think P&P should go on forever!!!
September 7th, 2005 at 7:45 pm
Hopefully KK will be more like Garvy in her adaptation. I think P&P should go on forever!!!!

And I’d say Keira’s dress is less French Empire and more Athenian Empire. Lovely color.
Absolutely, but the costume of the French Empire was inspired by the Athenian Empire.
And both Keira and Rosamund look stunning in them!
