Austen film soundtracks on iTunes
Alert Janeite Julie wrote to tell us that the soundtracks for S&S2 and MP2 are available on iTunes. MP2 is available by song at 99 cents each or as a full download at $9.99, but S&S2 only by song, which means the full soundtrack costs $20.79. We must pay for our convenience, we suppose.
We previously posted about Persuasionesque, an i-mix put together by Friend of AustenBlog TeresaAF for convenient downloading. It is not a true soundtrack of P2, but is a collection of versions of many of the classical and folk pieces used in the film (and we enjoy ours very much indeed).

I don’t suppose anyone’s been able to find a recording of that HEART-BREAKING aria in Persuasion? (”I have nothing to stay for” or-something-to-that-effect, cue soloist for a few seconds of pure musical transcendence). I read somewhere that it was written specifically for the movie, which, in the absence of a soundtrack, makes it seemingly impossible to find…

Wow, what a fun blog! I’ll be sure to stop by again. It’s nice to find other Austen fans.

Speaking of soundtracks, has anyone been able to find out what the song in the last part of the second trailer is? The one on the working films website, not the Love Actually one…
a wonderful site too. I love this.

yes! the song is from the Little Women soundtrack (the 90s version with Claire Danes)…i actually posted this a long time ago, but on an old topic–i’m new to this blog thing
anyways, i’ve heard the song used on many trailers, it seems to be rather popular that way. the LW soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous, by the way, and definitely worth buying.

aw man. Now I’m gonna have to make a Persuasion mix, being poor and uncool and not owning an ipod and all.
