Jane Austen specialist named professor emeritus
Professor William Kemp of the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, who has published articles about Jane Austen, was named professor emeritus at the university’s commencement ceremony today. Professor Kemp is the co-author of a chapter on animal communications in Language: Introductory Readings and A Family Performance of Jane Austen’s Play [Sir Charles Grandison of the Happy Man].
