BRIDGET JONES: THE EDGE OF REASON release moved up a week

Filed under: Screen — Tasha @ 6:12 pm

Yahoo.com reports that due to a many positive responses to the film, Universal Pictures has changed the release date of the BRIDGET JONES’ DIARY sequel to a limited release on November 12, and a more extended release on the original November 19 date. The reason for the change was explained as follows:

Said Nikki Rocco, president, distribution, Universal Pictures, “There is a whole legion of rabid Bridget fans out there from the first film who cannot wait for this second installment. After the tremendous response to our early press and word-of-mouth screenings — as well as from exhibitors who saw the film last week at ShowEast — we looked at the competitive landscape and realized that we had the goods for our target audience and the flexibility to deliver the film to eager moviegoers in selected markets one week earlier. This will give us a jumpstart on the holiday business.”

    My first doth affliction denote
Which my second is destin’d to feel.
And my whole is the best antidote
That affliction to soften and heal.
