In an article in Delhi Newsline, BRIDE AND PREJUDICE star Aishwariya Rai defends the film to harsh Indian critics:

The world media has said wonderful things. It’s only here that some people have been so vicious. Like I care! I’m just happy that my hard work has been appreciated,’’ declares Aishwarya Rai. . . ‘‘The important thing was to get it right, as Gurinder wanted,’’

In the article, Ash also defends her choice of clothing during the premiere, which the humble staff at AustenBlog Central believe seemed more in line with Lady Catherine’s tastes than our own Dearest, Loveliest, Elizabeth.

But of course, on this subject, we would do well to remain silent.

P.S. An addition by Your Gentle Editor - B&P was the #1 film in the U.K. again last week.
