New novel features Austen references

The novel Heir to the Glimmering World by Cynthia Ozick contains some references to Jane Austen and, according to a review in the Chicago Sun-Times, even echoes the conventions of 19th century novels.

A rumor about BRIDE AND PREJUDICE in AsiansinMedia.org:

Media Bandar also hears from an informant that Gurinder Chadha has shaved off about 8 minutes of footage from Bride and Prejudice in advance of going to release. It looks like some of the songs have had a chop to make sure the audience doesn’t get too restless.

Gee, we were looking forward to the singing and dancing!

In other B&P news, Aishwarya Rai will be immortalized in wax by the folks at Madame Tussaud’s.

Touring Information for “Pride and Prejudice” now available

The Stage Online now has a listing for the production of Pride and Prejudice starring John Leslie. The site features casting and production crew information, as well as touring dates, which start on the 14th of September.
