Tom Hollander cast in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

Filed under: Pride and Prejudice (2005) — Mags @ 3:20 pm

According to KeiraWeb.com, per screendaily.com, Tom Hollander has been cast in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, but it doesn’t say which role he will have. Mr. Collins, maybe?

KeiraWeb.com also has Simon Woods listed as a cast member. We’re thinking Bingley, or perhaps Colonel Fitzwilliam.

Perhaps Tom is Wickham. I can see him very much in that role. Collins is a bit of a slimy character and I don’t see Tom as that way, although Wickham is also a bit slimy — charming, yet slimy.

  2. Mags Says:

Collins isn’t so much slimy as smarmy, I think. He is certainly a comic character, and Tom Hollander plays a good comic character–for instance, in GOSFORD PARK. That’s why he immediately sprang to mind as Collins.

  3. Teresa Says:

He’s such a short little thing, I can’t image him playing anything other than Collins! And I’d rather he DID NOT play Colonel Fitzwilliam!

  4. Mags Says:

Simon Woods is quite tall. He was in CAMBRIDGE SPIES, as was Tom Hollander. He’d be a good Col. StudMuffin, though no Anthony Calf, of course. ;)

  5. Anne Says:

***jumps up and down and does a happy dance*** Yes!! Score!! I don’t care who he plays, I adore Tom Hollander. Woohoo!

  6. Mags Says:

    So do I. I think he’s great.
